App “EHLO” · Last updated: October 2026

The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. As the developer I receive no data from the app. There is no server of mine that the app talks to.

Data on your device

Checked domains and IP addresses with their results, the change log, saved SMTP servers, the history of SMTP tests and the settings are stored only on your device. The app stores passwords only if you choose to, and then in the device keychain. The history and logs never contain passwords or access tokens.

Domain and blocklist checks

For a check the app queries public DNS records of the domain or IP address you entered through your device's DNS service. This includes queries to public DNS blocklists (e.g. Spamhaus, SpamCop, Barracuda); their operators see the queried domain or address and the requesting DNS service, not you as a person. In addition, the app loads the MTA-STS policy of the checked domain from that domain's own address (https://mta-sts.<domain>/.well-known/mta-sts.txt). For monitored domains the app repeats these lookups regularly.

SMTP test

The app connects to the mail server you enter. User name, password or access token and the test message go only to that server. For servers on your own network iOS asks for the Local Network permission.

Headers

The analysis of pasted headers runs entirely on the device. The text is not sent anywhere and not stored.

Notifications and app lock

Notifications about changes are created locally on the device. The app lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode through the system; the app receives no biometric data.

Backup

A backup is created only at your request as a file, encrypted with a password of your choice (AES-256). You decide where to keep the file.

Contact by email

If you email me, I use your address and message only to answer your request.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at). You can delete all of the app’s data at any time by uninstalling the app.
